Autumn

As the arduous summer months come to an end, the air smells of autumn that brings along a tinge of nostalgia and longing. Trees shed their crispy sun burnt leaves transforming an ordinary landscape into a beautiful painting. It would be such a delight to go on a long evening walk during this season while longing for something intangible. A sense of nostalgia also wraps you in its arms and you reminisce about a time in your childhood when nothing was as serious as it is now.

Autumn serves as a gentle reminder of change, painting the world in vibrant hues of amber, crimson and gold. It also mirrors the transition we experience in our own lives, teaching us to embrace change and letting go of what no longer serves us, making way for renewal and growth. It urges us to find beauty in the impermanence of life. As the days go shorter, the nature invites us to pause and reflect upon the things that matter and release those thoughts that hinder our growth.

Fall is my favourite season for so many reasons. The scent of coffee, the crunch of leaves underfoot, the warmth of sweaters, the joy of upcoming winters; all these things make me fall in love with the fleeting moments of life. It is also the perfect season to re-watch my favourite show "Gilmore Girls" along with a mug of hot chocolate. Thus, Autumn encourages us to slow down and find comfort in the simple joys.

As Virginia Woolf says:

"Autumn is my season, dear. It is, after all, the season of the soul."
